Col. Maher, a Marine Corps helicopter pilot, most recently served as the executive assistant to the deputy commandant for Aviation at the Marine Corps headquarters. His service also includes squadron command, qualification as a weapons and tactics instructor, and aircraft commander authorized to fly the president of the United States while assigned to Marine Helicopter Squadron One. His overseas deployments include Djibouti, Japan, and Afghanistan. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and holds a master’s degree in strategic studies from the Air War College.
